Martial Droubly: Wanossa

from by Various Artists

Born in 1954 in Gagnoa, he was the symbol of this youth printed by Pop music. He played with Amedée Pierre & his Ivoiro Stars. When Amedée Pierre retired, he offered the other musicians like Martial or Pascal Armand Lido, the possibility to build their own career. Martial had a short one though, musicologists referenced only two 7inch singles and a fusion album with Jo Tongo. Sung in Bété, from Gagnoa dialect, “Wanossa” is an insane psyche jerk version with a terrible drum break.
